Octomom files for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

Nadya Suleman, better known by her nickname "Octomom" has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, here in the Central District of California, Santa Ana division. According to her bankruptcy filing, she could possibly have as much as $1 million in debts and her assets are estimated to be around $50,000. With the Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Suleman is expected to liquidate her unsecured debts. Some of Ms. Suleman's creditors include her father, DirecTV, Whittier Christian School, Verizon Wireless, and Southern California Edison.

Prior to the bankruptcy, Ms. Suleman had been in the news as her home was facing foreclosure. Suleman had fallen behind with her mortgage payments. The foreclosure sale was postponed last week and now the bankruptcy automatic stay will further postpone the foreclosure proceedings. One can imagine how difficult it would be to possibly lose your home, especially when you have as many children as she does.

Ms. Suleman is made in famous in 2009 when she gave birth to 8 babies which she had conceived using fertility treatments. Suleman already had 6 other children, putting her total at 14 kids.
